This is my favorite Juneteenth shirt and it will hopefully be yours too!
My Great Great Great Great Grandmother was a slave in Texas up until 1865 and she the 5 children she had with her slave master were directly impacted by the purposeful delay in the news that they were free that is at the heart of why we celebrate Juneteenth. It has become my favorite and most meaningful holiday in memory and solidarity with her and all my ancestors. I wear this shirt proudly knowing that we aren't were we want to be, but we damn sure aren't were we were!
